How can I re-image my Windows server?

For Microsoft Windows Dedicated Servers only!

This DOES NOT include:

	1&1 Beginner (Linux)	1&1 Dual Starter
	1&1 Home (MS/Linux)	1&1 Dual Standard (MS/Linux)
	1&1 Business (MS/Linux)	1&1 Dual Unlimited (MS/Linux)
	1&1 Business Pro (MS/Linux)	1&1 Dual Business (MS/Linux)
	1&1 Professional (MS/Linux)	1&1 Managed Servers

All data and system settings will be destroyed by the re-image process. Please backup any vital data before initializing the re-image.

To wipe your server clean of all data and perform a new install on the system, please follow the steps below.

Step 1:

Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel using your Customer ID OR domain name and your password

If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the package in question to reach its Administration page.

Step 2:

Click the Server Re-image link from the Server Administration panel.

Step 3:

In the text box, enter the New initial password which will but used as the administrator user password for the new operating system install. Next, choose the operating system image to install and click the Next button.

Step 4:

Read any additional information on the page, verify the password once again and when ready, click the Initialize button to begin the re-image.

Step 5:

A confirmation page informs you that the re-image has begun. Re-images for Windows Servers may take anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the image. If you are waiting longer than 3 hours for a re-image to complete, please contact our Dedicated Server Department at 1-866-99-1AND1 for further assistance.

You may click the Go To Overview button to return to the Administration section of the 1&1 Control Panel.
