Changing the Root Password Using Plesk

Changing the Root Password Using Plesk®

This article will explain how to change the root password to your server using the Plesk Interface.

For security reasons, we recommend you change your master password during your first session with Plesk®.

When logged in to the Plesk® control panel, go to 'Server' in the left navigation bar. From the bottom of the Server Preferences page that appears, select 'Change Password' in the Administrator Information section and follow the instructions. This password change will not show in the 'Server Administration' > 'Server Data' section of your 1&1 Control Panel — the password displayed will remain the initial master password! In case you forgot your set Plesk® password, click on 'Get Password' on the Plesk® login page to get help.
