How do I write and send an email using webmail?


To write and send an email using the webmail service first you must access the webmail service at
http://webmail.1and1.co.uk and login using your email and username password (FAQ: How do I log into
webmail to access my account)

1. Once you have entered webmail, click on 'New E-Mail' to begin writing a new email. This will open
a new window in which you can type and send your E-Mail.

2. Enter the address of the person you are wishing to send the mail to in the To section at the top of
the screen. If you have E-Mail addresses in the Address book then you can click the "To" button, for
more information on using the Address Book please click here.

You have 3 options for the recipients as in most Mail Clients, To, Cc and Bcc



To Every Address entered here will be shown in E-Mail messages
Cc Carbon Copy : This is generally used when you are sending someone a mail in the "To" section, but you also want others to see the mail and who it was sent to
Bcc Blind Carbon Copy, this is when you do not want other people to see who the mail was sent to. When you get a newsletter this is normally how it is sent out.
3. Enter the subject of your text in the field labeled Subject.
4. Priority. You have 3 options here "High", "Normal" & "Low". This makes no difference to the speed that the e-mail gets sent, but is an indication to the recipient as to how important the E-Mail is.

5. Format. In it's most basic this is whether or not the E-mail has formatting, such as Fonts, Colours, Sizes & Images etc. "HTML" with give you a formatted E-Mail where as "Text-Only" will be in plain text only.

6. In the field labeled "Text" enter the main text of your email.
If you have chosen to use Text-Only the Formatting Bar will be greyed out, however if you pick HTML you will have all the Formatting options available. You can choose to switch between, if you choose to go from HTML to Text-Only all the formatting will be lost.

7. If you would like to attach a file click on "Browse" Button, this will open up a window that shows files on your computer, Click on the file and then "Open". You will see the file name appear in the Box and then click on "Upload". For more information on Attachments click here.

8. Once you have completed your e-mail Click on the "Send" button to send the E-Mail out, "Save as Draft" to save for later or "Cancel"
