How to set permissions for directories and files?


To check and/or modify the permissions:

1. Log on to the computer as a user with Administrative permissions.

2. Navigate to the Downloads folder.

3. Right-click on the Downloads folder and then click Properties.

4. Click the Security tab, and in the Name box, click Everyone. Check the Permissions box for permissions selected.

5. To modify the permissions, click "Advanced....", click on Everyone in the "Permissions Entry:" box, and then click "View/Edit...".

6. Click the appropriate Permissions (usually Full Control).
