Step 1

Open Outlook Express. Go to Tools > Accounts.
|

Step 2

On the Accounts screen, click the Mail tab (if necessary), then click New. The Account Setup
Assistant will open.

Step 3

In the Your Name window, in the Your Name field, enter your full name. Click the right arrow.
Note: This name will appear in the From field of your outgoing messages.

In the Internet Email Address window:

Select I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use. |
 |
In the E-mail address field, enter your UMail address (e.g.,you@domain.co.uk), then click right arrow. |

In the E-mail Server Names window:
 |
Select IMAP as the type of server. |
 |
In the Incoming mail (IMAP) server field, enter imap.1and1.co.uk. |

In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, enter auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk |

In the Internet Mail Logon window:
 |
In the Account ID field, enter your 1&1 mailbox number (How to find your mailbox number). |

Leave the Password field blank, then click the right arrow. |

Step 7

In the Congratulations window, in the Account name field, enter an Account name (Outlook Express
uses this for display purposes only). Click Finish. The Account Setup Assistant will close.

Step 8

In the Accounts window, select your IMAP email account, then click Edit.

Step 9

In the Edit Account window, under Receiving mail, click Click here for advanced receiving options.
A small window will open.

Step 10
|
In the Edit Account window, under Sending mail, click Click here for advanced sending options .
A small window will open.

In this small window:

Make sure that SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL). is NOT ticked. |
 |
Select SMTP server requires authentication. |
 |
Select Use same settings as incoming mail server. |
