How do I setup TheBat! To Send and Receive E-Mails?


Setup The Bat


Step 1 Once you have opened The Bat! E-mail client you will need to click on the Account option in the main menu then click on
the "New..." menu item.



Step 2 Enter in the account name. This will be used in several ways, firstly as an identifier in the program so that you can
see which E-mail account is which, secondly where the configuration and Mail files are stored.



Step 3 Now you are required to enter your user information.



Your full name: This will be the display name when you send an E-mail.

E-Mail address: This will be the address that the mail will be sent from and will also be the return E-mail address.

Organization: This is optional and can be used if in a business environment.

Step 4 Next you need to configure the Mail Server details;



Protocol : IMAP 4

Incoming mail server : imap.1and1.co.uk

Outgoing mail server : auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk

My SMTP server requires authentication for sending mail should be ticked.

Click Next to continue

Step 5 Now you will need to enter your username and password. The Username is the same as the E-mail address, and the password is the one that you set when you created the E-mail account.



Click the Next button to continue.

Step 6 You have now completed the main setup of "TheBat!" Click the Finish button.



Step 7 If you have folders setup in the E-Mail account you should click on the Yes button, if not picked "No" and proceed to Step 10.



Step 8 If you picked "No" you have now finished the setup, proceed to Step 10.
Step 9 If you clicked Yes, you will need to select the folders that you want TheBat to be able to access.



To subscribe to a folder you will need to double click on it.

Once you have selected the folders that you want to subscribe to click on the Close button.

Step 10 All Set up has been completed now.
