What are the limitations of sending bulk emails?


We have introduced a SPAM Blocker on our Mailservers.

What happens is that we will block Mails from a specific sending IP address for 15 minutes if one of the following criteria is met:

* Number of recipients (not mails) >= 100 or >= 50 mail to the same recipient (mail bomb or misconfigured mailer or server)
* continuous stream of incoming mails (the counter resets after 8 minutes)


The block will stay on as long as an IP "fulfills" these requirements.

It will be taken off automatically after 15 minutes of "clean" operation.
