How to create a new FTP User name and Password


Step 1 Login to your Control Panel http://admin.1and1.co.uk and click on the package
you wish to configure.
Step 2 Click on FTP Account from Web Space & Access.



Step 3 Now displayed are all the FTP accounts in your package, to create a new FTP user click on the
"New user" button.
Step 4 You will now need to enter in the user details.
* User name this will be the same as the normal FTP user name, but you will have to
add a suffix this can be anything you like.
* Password this has to to be at least 7 characters, and will only be used with this
ftp username.
* Description : This mainly to give you an idea of why and for who you created the FTP account.
* Directory :You have a couple of options here.
Select existing directory: Using the box below you are able to selected the top level folder that
the account will be able to access, so if you pick "/." this is the top level or root directory, ever
directory below will be visible. However if you pick a named folder below the root they will only be
able to see that folder and any directly below it.
Create new directory With this option you can create a new folder and automatically assign the FTP user name and password to it.
