How can I make a homepage for each domain in my package?

If you have a package with multiple domains, setting up different home directories for each of your websites allows you to assign to it a specific part of your web space. The web space is the physical hard disk space that has been reserved for your 1&1 package on our web servers. All domains included in your package access this web space. By default, all domains point to the root directory, which is identified by a slash and a dot /..

To divide the existing physical web space into as many segments as you have different websites, go to the 1&1 Control Panel http://admin.1and1.co.uk. Click on 'Domains' in the left navigation bar which brings you to the "Domain Overview" page.

Select the domains you would like to work on and click on 'Destination' in the toolbar. The destination is where requests for your domain lead to. You can set the directory by clicking on 'Edit' in the "Destination" section. Then on the next page, select 'Existing Directory' or 'Create New Directory' under "Home Directory", and either choose one from the list of existing directories or create a new directory by entering the directory name, for example /homepage2. Clicking on 'Save' assigns a new home directory to the selected domain(s).

You can now upload your additional website to this directory, thereby giving the effect of an entirely independent homepage.

Repeat this procedure for any domain you wish to display as an individual homepage.
