How do I modify the DNS of a domain?

DNS management should only be used by advanced users.

Please note:
DNS Management is dependent on the features of the package and is available with all current domain packages
advertised on the 1&1 website.

Older domain packages may not have full DNS management. Upgrade to the latest version to access this feature.

Please contact 1&1 Technical support if you are unable to determine if your package supports DNS management.

You can completely control the name server settings of your Domains

Use your own or other non-1&1 name servers

You can choose up to four name servers of your choice. In case you have only one name server available, please use 1&1 name server as secondary, since at least two name servers are required by the registry.

To manage Name Servers please follow these instructions

1. Login to your "Control Panel" and click on the package you wish to configure.
2. Click on 'Domains' from Package Features section.
3. Select your domain. Click on 'DNS' and select 'Edit DNS Settings'
4. If you want to modify the Name servers choose 'Other Name servers'. Enter the Primary and Secondary Name servers and click 'Save'.
5. A confirmation is displayed. Click 'Save'.

Tip
If the DNS information entered is correct, it will be updated in 24 hours.
